Hi, I'm Brett.
I'm a photographer based in Greater Boston, focused on documenting the intimate and meaningful moments of life.
I work full-time in nonprofit strategy and management, leading teams and managing complex projects. That experience shapes how I show up for my photography clients: calm under pressure, attentive to what people need, and comfortable reading dynamics in real time.
I choose photography alongside my full-time work because it keeps me close to people and allows me to be fully present in moments that deserve care and attention. People often work with me because they care about connection and the experience just as much as the final images.
How I show up for you
I approach my work with a deep sense of wonder and attention. My focus is on the rhythm of the day, the interactions between people, and the moments that emerge when no one's performing for a camera.
Most of my time is spent watching and anticipating rather than directing. I position myself to capture what's unfolding.
You'll get guidance when it's useful - timing, locations, where to stand for good light - but the experience centers on what you're actually doing, not on staging scenes for the camera.
If you want to understand the deeper framework behind this approach, I've written more about my mission, vision, and values here

What this looks like to you
At a wedding or other milestone event, I'm moving through the periphery, not orchestrating group shots all day. During a proposal, I'm positioned to document the moment as it happens. In a family session, I'm following genuine interactions rather than arranging them.
The images reflect what was actually there: the pauses between the obvious moments, the glances that last a beat longer, and the quiet connections that happen when people forget the camera exists.

Who this resonates with
Most of my clients are thoughtful, grounded people who value meaning over attention. They want photographs that reflect connection, not performance. They're marking the intimate transitions of life - getting engaged, getting married, celebrating a child's coming-of-age, or gathering family across generations.
They want documentation without disruption. They value authenticity over curation. They're comfortable with images that feel honest rather than produced.
If you're approaching your milestone moment and hoping the photography can happen without becoming the focus of the day, this approach probably makes sense for you.

Who this isn't for
If you're envisioning elaborate styled shoots, extensive posing sessions, or highly produced imagery, this isn't the right fit. There are exceptional photographers who specialize in that approach. I'm just not one of them.
My work is for people who want their significant moments documented as they naturally occur.

What people say
"We forgot he was there."
"The photos captured moments we didn't even realize were happening."
"It didn't feel like a photo shoot. It just felt like our day."

Featured Client Testimonials
"Brett was the best vendor we chose for our wedding. Before the event he was great with communication, looking to tailor his shots to our vision for the event. He was open to our ideas and gave helpful input based on his experience with other weddings. On the day of the event Brett and Andy were in great spirits and were great fun to have in the groomsmen room and bridal suite. They were great at finding perfect shots in the moment. During the ceremony they found perfect angles to catch the magic while hardly being seen and keeping the attention on us. They were wonderful with our guests and helped guide us through the evening. All these little things really added up to make them so much more than the average event photographer. The turnaround time for pictures was phenomenal and the editing kept the photos looking naturally beautiful. I would recommend Brett for any event!"

"We hired Brett to take our engagement photos and couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. It was our first time working with a professional photographer and he really made us feel at ease. He was so fun and personable. The price was also super reasonable for those not looking to break the bank."
